Container Soils - Low Grade Perlite

Living in a small rural area makes it especially hard to find just what I want. I finally picked up a large (3 cu/ft) bag of perlite at a garden / farm supply about 20 minutes south of me. It was labeled "Horticulture Grade".

Container Soils - Bark Fines

I've had a tough time finding the ingredients I want to mix my own potting mix. I found some redwood bark at a good price that looks like it will work good, with one problem.

Carrots planted!

I planted carrots Friday, February 20th in a Self Watering Container spaced at 2 1/2 inches. I sowed a nantes variaty called Yaya in an 18 gallon container.

I snapped this shot this morning as I was checking the greenhouse containers. Perfectly round drops on the points of the leaves.
