No Carrots?

It's been ten days and no signs of the carrots yet. I dug around a bit and i could not even find a sprout. The soil is moist, almost perfectly so, but I think the temperature is a bit on the cool side with daytime highs only reaching low 50's lately. I was really hoping for the warm weather we were having to stick around for a few more days when I planted the carrot seeds. I'm going to leave them in for a while longer. I'll let that container sit around a bit and use others. If no carrots ever sprout, I'll plant something else in there.

It's always a little disappointing when something does not grow. Not because of the loss, but because there must have been something I could have done different. Was it the soil? The temperatures? The watering? This time I'm guessing the temps.
