Peas are up!

The peas are up! I direct sowed sugar snap and snow peas in Home Made Self Watering Containers. I wasn't sure exactly how well it would work, since I am new to self water-ers. I sowed in the last week of January and now they are up to about an inch and growing fast. The containers seem to be providing the perfect amount of moisture all the way to the top as long as I use a plastic bag mulch. Once the seedlings start to show through the soil, I just cut a slit for the plant to grow through. I think i will leave the bag on through the rest of the growth to prevent excess surface evaporation.
