I am starting peppers indoors for my first time. Last year I bought plants, but the bugs got them. This time I planted them in soda bottle self watering containers in potting mix. The pots are under fluorescent lights (the GE ones labeled for plants). Peppers definitely take a bit longer to germinate than lettuce and cabbage! After about a week there were signs of life in the containers. I planted Anaheim Chillies and Orange Bell Peppers.
Currently the plants are about 2 weeks old with their first pair of leaves about 1" long and the seconds pair starting to show.
