Self Watering Container Instructions

Here are the updated self watering container (often referred to as 'SWC') instructions by Joe.

All of the blue containers you see on this website are self watering containers (some people call them sub-irrigation planters - aka SIP's - also.) For a LOT more info, please look around here a bit and check out gardenweb.com.

"A self watering container is a container that has a water reservoir built in. This reservoir waters the plants sometimes for several days. These containers can also contain a fertilizer band to feed the plants for the season. This makes the process of growing almost any flower or vegetable very easy to do and is very productive. Another advantage is it can be placed somewhere where there is no garden such as a deck or patio. This document will show you step by step how to make your own self watering containers." -- Making a Self Watering Container

With a self watering container you will be able to grow virtually anything in a container, even when space is limited. Container gardening becomes much easier with a self watering container reducing the amount of time and work you need to put into watering your plants everyday. And because the plants get only as much water as they need you will enjoy healthy and strong crops. Please note that I did not create these documents. I learned a lot from them, and offered to host them for the author.
